Motivated/Unmotivated

Part 2

This week I had to find the motivation, like literally, knock on some doors while holding my hands out “do you have a bit of motivation to lend me” like Pookie in “New Jack City”. For real though , I had to meet deadlines and that meant I had to do some things after working hours (woooooh) no mam Pam. This is one of the things I have stressed the most not do (bring your work home with you), but a girl had to use some of those days. Which is where you come in. Plug: please subscribe on all my platforms because I have so many gems and other talents to share and I want to give to my people the best (in the right space and context) because believe or not people will steal content from other people’s platform especially those with lower numbers. We fight to put out great content and build a community and guess what it’s free99 to you and for that I thank you.

Ok back to regular programming when motivation is hard take a moment to reflect and focus on what needs to happen and execute. Here are some ways to do that.

Adjust your approach

  • Break tasks into smaller chunks: An overwhelming to-do list can paralyze you. Break down large tasks into small, manageable steps. Focus on one piece at a time to build momentum.
  • Use rewards: Create a small reward for yourself to earn after completing a task. This could be a snack, a 10-minute break, or some time on social media.
  • Make working a habit: Incorporate tasks into an existing routine so you don’t have to rely on motivation alone. If you brush your teeth every morning, for instance, you can use that as a trigger to immediately put on your workout clothes.
  • Shake up your environment: A new setting can provide a temporary boost of novelty. Try working in a different room, going to a library, or simply reorganizing your workspace.
  • Pair a dreaded task with a fun one:Combine a chore with something you enjoy. Listen to a podcast while cleaning or play music while running errands.

Address physical and emotional well-being

  • Prioritize self-care: A lack of motivation can be a sign that you’re stressed or burned out. Focus on getting enough sleep, eating well, and allowing for leisure time.
  • Get outside and move: A walk in nature can reduce brain fatigue and boost your mood. Exercise releases endorphins, which can improve your mental state and motivation.
  • Talk to someone: Connecting with supportive friends or family can help you break out of an uninspired mindset. Simply talking through what you’re feeling can provide a new perspective.
  • Explore new interests: If boredom is the root cause, engaging in a new hobby or learning a new skill can be refreshing and stimulate your mind.

When to seek professional help

If your lack of motivation is persistent and lasts for two weeks or more, consider speaking with a doctor or mental health professional. It could be a sign of a more serious issue like depression, chronic stress, or burnout. A professional can help identify the root cause and recommend an appropriate course of treatment.

Now fall is coming will you be ready to secure the win?
