How to let go of the past
- Make a commitment to let go. The first step toward letting go is realizing that it is necessary and feeling ready to do so. … there was a reason the relationship ended, the promotion fell through, and or the raise didn’t work out but now you can determine your truth worth and make some shifts to get what you deserve in another relationship, job and career.
- Feel the feelings. Memories of past events can bring up complex or strong emotions. … and it could also give you clarity of such things in the past use the clues to help you not make the same mistakes again.
- Take responsibility. … for what happened acknowledge the facts and what could have been done better but move on so you can heal and live with yourself.
- Practice mindfulness. … don’t get discouraged by things that didn’t happened it could have been for good reason and it’s not your job to harp upon things.
- Practice self-compassion. Heal and learn we are human and have times where we will fall short of the standards but as long as we’re willing to accept it and do things for the future we will prevail.
